Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure grass cutting services at 132 kV substations within the City of uMhlathuze. The aim is to ensure the maintenance and safety of the substations by keeping the surrounding areas clear of overgrown vegetation.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Grass cutting at thirteen (13) specified 132 kV substations:
1. Taurus Sub
2. Leo Sub
3. Polaris Sub
4. Capella Sub
5. Hydra Sub
6. Neptune Sub
7. Neptune Take Off
8. Carina Sub
9. Scorpio Sub
10. Hercules Sub
11. Phoenix Sub
12. Indus Sub
13. Cygnus Sub

The work involves scheduled grass cutting to maintain clear and safe environments around the substations, adhering to the specified CIDB RATING EP1.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) with a valid CSD number.
• Provision of a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund or Department of Labour.
• Completion of RFQ forms in black ink, with all alterations signed by the bidder.
• Submission of all compulsory documents, including tax compliance certificates, SHE risk management files, and health certificates (if applicable).
• Adherence to the CIDB RATING EP1 for the scope of work.
• Use of the provided checklist to confirm all mandatory documents are attached.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the successful bidder include:

• CIDB RATING EP1 or higher, indicating competence in executing electrical substation maintenance work.
• Experience in vegetation management and grass cutting services, particularly in electrical or utility environments.
• Registered and compliant with municipal and national supplier databases.
• Ability to provide necessary legal and safety documentation, including SHE files and health certificates.
• Capacity to perform scheduled maintenance within the specified delivery period.
