Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a 12-month contract for the supply of uniforms to Umphumulo Hospital. The contract aims to ensure the consistent provision of specified uniform items, including various clothing and protective gear, to meet the operational needs of the hospital staff over a one-year period.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement and supply of a comprehensive set of uniforms and related apparel, including navy trousers, white shirts with embroidered logos, skirts, golf T-shirts, lab coats, raincoats, jerseys, freezer jackets, gum boots, and gloves. The contract covers all sizes and specifications as detailed in the tender documentation, with delivery to Umphumulo Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to the specifications provided, including sizes, colors, and materials.
• All uniforms must feature the KZN Health logo embedded or embroidered as specified.
• Uniforms should meet quality standards, with particular emphasis on durability and safety, especially for protective clothing.
• Items such as white shirts and lab coats must be embroidered with the KZN Health logo and staff names.
• All clothing and protective gear must be new, unused, and of the latest models with recent design improvements.
• Suppliers must provide samples upon request and ensure all items are compliant with the specified standards.
• Delivery must be timely, with the ability to supply all sizes and quantities as per the contract period of 12 months.

Skills and Capabilities Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying uniforms and apparel to healthcare or similar sectors.
• Ability to produce and supply garments that meet specified quality and safety standards.
• Capacity to handle bulk orders with consistent quality control and timely delivery.
• Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including VAT registration, BBB-EE status, and CSD registration.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical support, samples, and documentation as required.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and adherence to government supply chain management policies.
