Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to select a suitable and experienced service provider to cater for the Umdoni Municipality's Men’s Day event. The successful provider will facilitate catering services for 260 male staff members, including halal options for 15 people, during the Men’s Day Wellness Programme scheduled for 31 July 2026 at Umzinto Town Hall. The event aims to promote employee empowerment through wellness activities, with catering being a key component.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of catering services for 260 male staff members, including halal meals for 15 individuals.
• Preparation and serving of a menu comprising pap/rolls, chakalaka, coleslaw, beef, chicken, wors, fruit salad, and ice cream.
• Provision of beverages including 250 water bottles (300 ml), 160 soft drinks (300 ml), and 100 Liqui Fruit juices (300 ml).
• Provision of tablecloths and centerpieces for 30 tables.
• Food served at a serving station with appropriate dishes.
• Delivery of all catering items to Umzinto Town Hall on the event date.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to the specified menu and presentation standards.
• Provision of halal food options for 15 people.
• Delivery of food and beverages to the event venue on 31 July 2026.
• Provision of tablecloths and centerpieces for 30 tables.
• Use of serving dishes and stations for food presentation.
• Compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
• Availability of the specification document upon request and via the municipality’s website.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Relevant experience in catering for large events and wellness programs.
• Capability to prepare and serve halal and non-halal meals simultaneously.
• Ability to deliver food and beverages promptly on the scheduled date.
• Proficiency in managing event catering logistics, including setup, serving, and cleanup.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
• Capacity to provide quality presentation, including table settings and decorations.
• Registered status on the Central Suppliers Database or proof of CSD registration.
