Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload live chickens, specifically Boschveld 16-week-old hens and roosters, ensuring they are healthy and free from notifiable diseases. The procurement aims to meet the needs of the ARC - Animal Nutrition and Products by sourcing healthy poultry that complies with health standards and administrative requirements.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply of 320 Boschveld 16-week-old hens and 40 roosters.
• Delivery and offloading at the specified address: ARC - Animal Nutrition and Products, Old Olifant Road, Pretoria.
• Ensuring chickens are free from HPAI, Newcastle disease, Salmonella, and other notifiable diseases.
• Compliance with health, veterinary, and administrative requirements as specified in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Chickens must be older than 6 years in South Africa.
• Chickens must be free from HPAI, Newcastle, Salmonella, and other notifiable diseases, with appropriate veterinary health certificates.
• Provision of veterinary health certificates and livestock removal permits, confirming health status and disease-free condition.
• Compliance with veterinary standards, including vaccination and health checks prior to delivery.
• Adherence to the veterinary health certificate format and completion of all relevant sections.

Skills Requirements

The skills and experience required from bidders include:

• Demonstrated experience in poultry supply and delivery, particularly with Boschveld breeds.
• Knowledge of poultry health management, disease prevention, and veterinary certification processes.
• Ability to comply with biosecurity and health standards during transportation and offloading.
• Capacity to provide relevant documentation, including CSD reports, veterinary health certificates, and livestock removal permits.
• Understanding of procurement procedures, administrative requirements, and adherence to the ARC’s supply chain management policies.
