Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure operating theatre tables, screens, arm boards, and attachments that are suitable for all surgical procedures and compatible with modern radiographic techniques. The equipment must meet specified technical standards, be reliable, and support efficient surgical operations.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and end-user training of the operating theatre tables and associated accessories. The equipment must be suitable for use in Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital and comply with all technical and safety standards. The contract is for a once-off supply with provisions for training, demonstration, and optional accessories, including maintenance and support services.

Technical Requirements

• The operating table must be rigidly mounted, stable, and capable of supporting a minimum patient weight of 170kg.
• The table should have at least four sections with adjustable upper and lower trunk sections, support Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg positions, and provide flexion and extension capabilities.
• The height adjustment range must be less than 710mm and more than 1000mm, with a vertical movement of at least 290mm.
• The table top must be x-ray translucent, with a minimum width of 500mm and length of 1960mm, supporting extensions.
• Adjustable head and leg sections with specific angles, removable parts, and support for orthopaedic attachments.
• The table must include side rails, accessories such as arm boards, screens, lithotomy poles, and optional accessories like trays and restraints.
• The equipment must be CE certified, comply with IEC 60601 standards, and meet safety and electrical standards.
• The system should support easy installation, calibration, maintenance, and include comprehensive manuals and software for troubleshooting.
• Guarantee period of at least 24 months, with provisions for maintenance, repairs, and optional upgrades.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and installing medical operating tables and related equipment.
• Qualified technical personnel with manufacturer-certified training in the maintenance, calibration, and repair of the supplied equipment.
• Capability to provide on-site installation, demonstration, and user training to hospital staff.
• Established service and repair facilities within KwaZulu-Natal, with qualified technicians available within 24 hours.
• Ability to supply spare parts for at least 10 years from the date of installation.
• Demonstrated compliance with all relevant safety, electrical, and medical standards, including IEC 60601.
• Capacity to provide ongoing technical support, updates, and optional accessories as per specifications.
