Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the service of laundry equipment maintenance and servicing at Othobothini CHC. The aim is to ensure the longevity, proper functioning, and optimal performance of laundry machinery through scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of maintenance and servicing for laundry equipment such as washing machines, tumble dryers, and ironing machines.
• Carrying out routine inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and repairs as per the specified maintenance schedule.
• Providing detailed reports post-service outlining work completed, tests conducted, and recommendations.
• Ensuring compliance with quality standards (SABS/SANS) and safety regulations.
• Adhering to scheduled service dates and delivering services within the contract period, which is a once-off engagement.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to the detailed specifications for each equipment type, including pressure rollers, washing machines (24kg and 35kg), and tumble dryers.
• Performing checks, adjustments, cleaning, lubrication, and testing of safety devices and electrical controls.
• Replacement or repair of worn or faulty parts, with detailed reporting of work done.
• Compliance with the specified quality standards (SABS/SANS).
• Completion of scheduled maintenance as per the preventive maintenance schedule outlined in the specifications.
• Provision of spare parts as required, with clear documentation and lead times.
• Proper documentation of all inspections, repairs, and tests conducted.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must possess:

• Qualified technicians with trade testing in electrical or mechanical maintenance.
• Experience in servicing laundry equipment, including washing machines, tumble dryers, and pressing/ironing machines.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance with SABS/SANS standards.
• Ability to diagnose faults accurately and perform repairs efficiently.
• Capability to prepare detailed reports and maintenance documentation.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for laundry equipment.
• Compliance with all health and safety regulations relevant to the maintenance work.
