Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure roofing repair services for the D Wing at the Richards Bay Civic Centre. The work involves fixing the roof by installing missing sections and repairing damaged areas to ensure the integrity and safety of the structure.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repairing the roof of the Richards Bay Civic Centre's D Wing.
• Installation of missing roof sections in damaged areas.
• Completion of repairs within a contract period of one week.

The work covers all activities necessary to restore the roof to a functional and safe condition, as specified in the project specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Adherence to the scope of work as detailed in the project specifications.
• Completion of the repairs within the specified contract period of 1 week, including statutory and builder’s holidays.
• Work to be carried out during normal hours (Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:30), unless prior approval is obtained for outside hours.
• Submission of a work program and method of work to the Project Leader for approval.
• Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993, and related regulations.
• Site inspection and familiarization with the existing conditions prior to commencement.
• Invoice submission upon completion of work, with rates exclusive of VAT.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Valid CIDB grading of 1SN or higher, to qualify for participation.
• Relevant experience in roofing repairs and construction works.
• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and possession of a valid CSD number.
• Provision of a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) requirements.
• Capability to prepare and submit a detailed work program and method statement.
• Ability to complete the project within the specified timeframe and budget.
