Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a powdered product suitable for the dietary management of diarrhoea and loose stools, intended for use in a healthcare setting at Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital. The product aims to provide an effective nutritional supplement that is gluten-free, fiber-rich, and suitable for oral or tube feeding, to improve patient care and management of gastrointestinal conditions.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 220 units of 11g powdered sachets of the specified dietary product. The product must meet detailed specifications including flavor, nutritional content, packaging, and quality standards. The procurement is for a period of 90 days, with the possibility of future orders, and includes compliance with relevant health and safety standards, packaging, and quality assurance requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Product must be in 11g sachets, sold as single units.
• Flavour: Pineapple Banana.
• Contains dietary fiber and is gluten-free.
• Each sachet must provide 167KJ energy, 10g carbohydrates, and 2g fiber.
• Packaging must be of high quality, suitable for transport and storage, and conform to specified standards.
• Product must comply with SABS or SANS specifications and be approved by relevant health authorities (e.g., SAHPRA).
• Delivery must be timely, with adherence to specified delivery periods.
• Samples may be required for testing and approval prior to final acceptance.
