Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver Body Bags (XXL size) to various mortuaries within the KwaZulu-Natal Province, including Richmond, Pietermaritzburg, and Howick Mortuaries. The aim is to ensure the procurement of high-quality, waterproof, leak-proof body bags that meet specified standards for use in handling bodies from crime scenes or other circumstances requiring body transportation.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of Body Bags XXL to multiple mortuaries as specified in the procurement documents. The quantities required are:

• Richmond Mortuary: 100 units
• Pietermaritzburg Mortuary: 400 units
• Howick Mortuary: 50 units

The delivery must comply with detailed specifications, including size, material, stitching, waterproofing, and other quality standards. The contract is a once-off procurement with a validity period of 90 days from the date of advertisement.

Technical Requirements

• Material: Ultra spun bound polypropylene laminated, waterproof, 100% leak-proof, water-resistant.
• Microns strength: 180 microns with a breaking strength of 200kg.
• Manufacture: Double stitched, formulated folding U-shaped design, white color, size 2600mm long x 1200mm wide.
• Closure: U-shaped nylon zip to ensure total leak-proof sealing; seams double stitched and heat bonded.
• Handles: Three webbed handles of 50mm width on each side, capable of supporting maximum weight.
• Additional features: Inside ties at top, middle, and bottom; absorbent pad from head to knees; transparent luggage label (12cm x 9cm).
• Quality Standard: Must conform to specified standards and be of good quality.
• Sample: Required for evaluation, with compliance confirmed via attached specifications.
