Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to carry out major and minor servicing of each standby generator at Osindisweni Hospital. The services aim to ensure the generators are maintained in optimal working condition, including routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliable power supply.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Performing major and minor services on all standby generators at Osindisweni Hospital.
• Attending to all breakdowns, call-outs, and repairs related to the generators.
• Adhering to the detailed specifications and standards provided, including scheduled weekly, 240-hour, 480-hour, 720-hour, and 960-hour maintenance intervals.
• Providing necessary documentation, reports, and compliance with specified standards such as SABS.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with detailed maintenance schedules, including weekly checks and interval-specific services (e.g., 240h, 480h, 720h, 960h).
• Inspection and testing of engine components, alternators, batteries, cooling systems, fuel systems, and exhaust systems.
• Replacement of filters, gaskets, and other wear parts as specified.
• Conducting load tests and recording operational parameters such as voltage, current, oil pressure, water temperature, and noise levels.
• Ensuring all work complies with SABS standards and CIDB grading requirements (e.g., ME/EB/EP).
• Providing detailed service reports and documentation for each maintenance activity.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified technicians with experience in diesel generator maintenance and servicing.
• CIDB grading of at least ME/EB/EP or equivalent, indicating capability to undertake the required works.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to diesel generators.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, maintenance manuals, and standards.
• Competence in conducting load testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills to ensure compliance and record-keeping.
