ADVERT FOR FIRST AID KITS
The primary objective is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply first aid kits to Vhembe District Municipality. The procurement process simultaneously aims to advance municipal preferential procurement policies by embedding socio-economic transformation targets into the evaluation framework.
The successful bidder will be responsible for the end-to-end provision and delivery of first aid kits as specified in the complete tender documentation. The scope covers procurement, quality assurance, logistics, and timely distribution to municipal facilities. Bids will be evaluated based on regulatory compliance, pricing competitiveness, technical capability, and designated preference allocations.
Detailed specifications regarding kit compositions, quantities, material standards, and delivery schedules are contained within the full bid package. Bidders must ensure all supplied products meet applicable South African health, safety, and medical supply regulations. Strict administrative compliance is required: every page of the submission must be pre-numbered and initialed to prevent tampering. Mandatory supporting documents include a Central Supplier Database (CSD) summary, tax compliance verification, company registration proof, and municipal clearance (or traditional authority confirmation).
Bidders must demonstrate proven experience in sourcing, distributing, and delivering medical or first aid supplies. Essential competencies include logistical coordination, inventory management, quality control, and strict adherence to municipal delivery timelines. Financial stability, administrative efficiency, and familiarity with public sector procurement workflows are required. The ability to maintain accurate compliance records and navigate municipal verification processes throughout the contract period is also expected.
Quotations are assessed using an 80/20 point scoring system. Eighty percent of the score is allocated to price and technical compliance, while twenty percent is reserved for preferential procurement goals. Preference points are distributed across five categories:

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.
Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements
To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting
