Objectives

The primary objective is to secure a reliable supplier for a once-off provision of sterile paper packaging materials to support surgical instrument preparation at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure a continuous supply of compliant, high-quality steri sheets while adhering to provincial health department standards and preferential procurement policies.

Scope

The scope covers the supply and direct delivery of 800 packets of Paper Steri Sheets measuring 900mm by 1300mm, with each packet containing 100 sheets (totaling 80,000 sheets). The contract is structured as a single transaction with a quotation validity period of 90 days. Suppliers must guarantee that all delivered products remain valid for a minimum of six months post-delivery. Second-hand, refurbished, or expired items are strictly prohibited.

• Compliance with ISO 11607-1, ISO 11607-2, and EN 868-2 packaging standards.
• Adherence to SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) regulations.
• Functionality as a high-efficiency microbial barrier to prevent penetration and maintain sterility.

• Demonstrated Delivery Capacity: Proof of at least one successfully completed order, supported by an order confirmation and delivery note from either a public or private healthcare facility.
