The primary objective of this quotation is to secure a qualified supplier capable of providing essential plumbing materials for routine maintenance and facility upkeep at Richmond Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations through reliable, cost-effective, and specification-compliant supply of standard plumbing components.

Scope

The scope covers the purchase, supply, and delivery of a defined list of plumbing hardware. The contract operates on an ad-hoc basis, meaning the hospital will issue orders as maintenance needs arise rather than committing to fixed monthly volumes. The item list includes washers, P-traps, thread tape, mini ball valves, stainless steel braided hoses, stop cocks, bottle traps, gate valves, wall pillar taps, medical sink mixers, flexi connectors, and adaptors. All quoted prices must be firm, inclusive of applicable VAT, and fully cover transportation and delivery to the hospital's designated receiving area.

Technical Requirements

• All goods must strictly match the quantities, dimensions, and descriptions listed in the official price schedule.
• Supplies must conform to South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) quality specifications.
• Only brand-new, unused, and current-model items are acceptable. Second-hand, refurbished, or expired products will be rejected.
• Delivered goods must retain a minimum shelf-life or validity period of six months from the date of handover.
• Bidders must formally indicate specification compliance on the quotation form; non-compliance results in disqualification.
• A warranty of twelve months post-delivery or acceptance (whichever occurs first) is mandatory, covering defects in design, materials, or workmanship.
• Delivery delays incur financial penalties calculated at the prevailing prime interest rate per day until fulfillment.

Skills Requirements

No specialized engineering or installation skills are required, as the contract is strictly for the supply and delivery of goods. However, bidders must demonstrate standard commercial and logistical capabilities, including:

• Active registration and successful verification on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD).
• Valid Tax Clearance PIN or proof of tax compliance status via SARS.
• Current CIPC company registration documents.
• A valid BBBEE status verification certificate or a legally binding sworn affidavit.
• Established supply chain logistics to source, warehouse, and deliver plumbing hardware to the specified site within agreed timeframes.

Ad-hoc Contract Period: Indicates an open-ended arrangement where supplies are ordered reactively based on actual maintenance needs, without guaranteed minimum purchase commitments.
