Objectives

The primary objective is to procure and supply one anatomical waste freezer for the secure storage of pathological waste at Ngwelezana Hospital, operating under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health.

Scope

• Item: One (01) unit of Anatomical Waste Freezer.
• Delivery Location: Ngwelezana Hospital.
• Delivery Period: Maximum of three weeks (15 working days) from contract award.
• Contract Duration: Once-off supply.
• Pricing: Firm price valid for 90 days. Prices must include VAT (if the bidder is a registered vendor) and all delivery costs to the destination.
• Warranty: Two-year guarantee required.
• Accessories: Provision of ten (10) replacement pathological waste sticky stickers compliant with specific design and adhesion requirements.

Technical Requirements

Supplied goods must be new, unused, and strictly comply with the following specifications:

• Capacity & Configuration: 572 Litre capacity with three freezer baskets.
• Temperature Control: Front Varifreeze control allowing selection between freeze (-18°C), chill (2°C), and refrigerate (5°C), accompanied by a pilot light.
• Dimensions: Height 800mm, Width 1745mm, Depth 680mm.
• Safety Features: SABS approved lock-in lid and spring-loaded hinges.
• Signage: Irremovable anatomical/biohazardous waste signs on all sides in both English and isiZulu.
• Regulatory Compliance: Must comply with NEMA No 107 of 1998 and OHSA No 85 of 1993.
• Sticker Specifications: Ten triangular stickers (30cm sides, 0.5mm thickness) with a red background and black biohazard sign. Text must read "INFECTIOUS WASTE AND UDOTI ONOBUNGOZI" in English and isiZulu. Stickers must be tough, weather-resistant, waterproof, sun-resistant, and utilize permanent adhesive requiring no additional glue.
• General Conditions: Second-hand or expired products are rejected. Products must have a minimum validity of six months where applicable.
