Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit reputable and experienced service providers to supply and install two highmasts in Extension 08 of uMzimkhulu Municipality. The project aims to enhance lighting infrastructure within the specified area, ensuring improved safety and visibility.

Scope

The scope of work includes the supply and installation of 2 highmasts in Extension 08. The project involves procurement of the highmasts, their installation, and ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards. The tender covers all activities necessary for the successful completion of the installation as specified in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Supply and installation of 2 highmasts with a CIDB grading of 3EP or higher.
• Participation in a briefing session scheduled for 15/07/2026 at 10:00.
• Provision of detailed construction methodology, including approach, activities, quality management, risk management, and occupational health & safety measures.
• Adherence to safety standards, including certification such as SAMTRAC or NOSA for safety officers.
• Compliance with relevant electrical and construction standards, including experience with highmast installation projects.
• Provision of relevant project experience, personnel expertise, and safety documentation.

Skills Requirements

• Company Experience: Demonstrated experience with at least 2-3 completed projects involving supply and installation of highmasts, supported by reference letters and CIDB grading certificates.
• Personnel Expertise:
  • Site Supervisor with a trade test certificate, N6 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and over 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Safety Officer with SAMTRAC, NOSA, or equivalent certification, and at least 3 years of relevant occupational health & safety experience.
• Methodology Skills: Ability to prepare and present a comprehensive construction method statement covering approach, activities, quality, risk, and occupational health & safety management.
• Administrative Skills: Ability to provide all required documentation, including proof of registration, municipal rates clearance, lease agreements (if applicable), and affidavits where necessary.
