Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint an experienced insurance broker to provide short-term insurance services to Mogale City Local Municipality for a period of three (3) years, starting from 1 July 2026.

Scope

The scope involves rendering comprehensive short-term insurance brokerage services, including advising, arranging, and managing insurance policies for the municipality. The services are to be provided within the municipality's jurisdiction and may include specific goals related to local area coverage, youth enterprise participation, and gender ownership considerations.

Technical Requirements

• Participation in a compulsory briefing session on 15 April 2026 at the Mayoral Parlour, Civic Centre, Krugersdorp.
• Evaluation based on functionality (minimum of 36 points out of 70) and preference points (80/20 system).
• Demonstration of experience and capability to provide short-term insurance services.
• Compliance with mandatory and essential documentation, including registration on the Central Supplier Database, submission of municipal rates/taxes or lease agreements, and relevant affidavits where applicable.
• Adherence to procurement and bid submission conditions, including submission of original documents, handwritten bids in black ink, and proper sealing and addressing of bids.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in insurance brokerage services, specifically short-term insurance.
• Ability to provide professional advice and manage insurance portfolios effectively.
• Knowledge of municipal and district area coverage, including verification of jurisdictional boundaries.
• Competence in completing and submitting detailed and accurate documentation as per tender specifications.
• Understanding of procurement processes, evaluation criteria, and preference point systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to engage with municipal officials and stakeholders.
