Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure the supply and delivery of aggregate products and materials within Ray Nkonyeni Municipality for a period of three (03) years, based on rates only. The aim is to ensure a consistent and reliable provision of various construction and infrastructure materials to support municipal projects and services.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a wide range of aggregate products, bricks, blocks, manhole covers, kerb stones, paving slabs, cement, concrete, gabion baskets, plastic pipes, and related construction materials to multiple depot areas within Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, including Hibberdene/Southport, Port Shepstone, Margate, and Munster. The contract duration is three years, with rates fixed for the period, and includes specifications for various item types and quantities as detailed in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of quality aggregate products, bricks, blocks, and other specified materials in accordance with the detailed specifications and schedule of rates provided in the tender.
• Delivery to designated depot areas within the municipality, ensuring timely and accurate supply as per the contract schedule.
• Compliance with relevant standards such as SABS specifications for pipes, cement, and other materials.
• Provision of necessary documentation, including invoices, delivery notes, and compliance certificates.
• Adherence to packaging, handling, and transportation requirements to prevent damage during transit.
• Provision of warranty and after-sales support as specified in the tender conditions.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and delivering aggregate and construction materials, with successful completion of similar projects/contracts of comparable scope and size.
• Demonstrated capacity to supply materials to multiple depot locations reliably and within specified timeframes.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and specifications, including SABS standards for pipes, cement, and other products.
• Ability to provide technical documentation, quality assurance certificates, and compliance declarations.
• Registered in the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and compliant with tax and municipal requirements.
• Capacity to meet the environmental, safety, and health standards applicable to construction material supply and delivery.
