Objectives

The primary objective of the tender is to upgrade the Eendekuil Water Treatment Works (WTW) and construct a new 500kL reservoir, incorporating various civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works as detailed in the tender documents and addenda.

Scope

The scope includes site clearance, earthworks, civil and structural construction, installation of pipelines, valves, fittings, tanks, electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, fencing, and associated works necessary for the complete upgrade of the water treatment infrastructure and reservoir. Specific tasks involve pipe replacement, tank construction, installation of pumps, valves, instrumentation, fencing, and associated site works as detailed in the annexures and schedules.

Technical Requirements

• Incorporation of amendments and additions from Addendum 1 into the tender documentation.
• Use of specified standards such as SABS 1200 series, SANS standards, and relevant codes.
• Implementation of trenchless technology for pipe replacement and installation.
• Provision of water-tightness testing, commissioning, and operational acceptance.
• Installation of specified mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment, including pumps, valves, tanks, and sensors.
• Compliance with environmental, safety, and SHEQ standards.
• Preparation of "as built" drawings and operation manuals.
• Adherence to specified water tariffs and tariffs application as per Annexure B.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in water treatment plant upgrades, civil and structural construction, and pipeline installation.
• Capability to incorporate technical amendments from addenda into tender submissions.
• Competence in trenchless pipe installation and testing procedures.
• Experience in installation and commissioning of pumps, valves, tanks, and instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (SABS, SANS) and safety regulations.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings, manuals, and test reports.
• Effective project management and coordination skills for multidisciplinary works.
