Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified and experienced service provider responsible for the servicing, maintenance, testing, and repair of diesel-powered standby generators. The goal is to ensure reliable operation of generators at municipal facilities from the date of appointment until 30 June 2029, thereby supporting the municipality's emergency power supply and operational continuity.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing, maintenance, testing, and repair of diesel-powered standby generators.
• Generators ranging from 10 kVA to 1,500 kVA or as specified by Bergrivier Municipality.
• Work to be performed at various municipal facilities, including scheduled and emergency repairs.
• Possible servicing of mobile generator units.
• Adherence to OEM requirements and scheduled service intervals.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Provision of routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Fault diagnosis, testing, and repairs, including replacement of faulty components.
• Response times:
  • Urban areas: within 4 hours
  • Rural/remote areas: within 8 hours
• Compliance with OEM standards and manufacturer’s service intervals.
• Provision of technical reports and documentation for all services performed.
• Availability of spare parts and consumables necessary for maintenance and repairs.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during service delivery.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in diesel generator servicing, maintenance, and repair.
• Relevant experience with generators of similar size and capacity.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate certifications and training in generator technology and safety standards.
• Ability to respond promptly to service calls and perform repairs efficiently.
• Knowledge of OEM specifications and compliance standards.
• Capacity to provide technical reports, documentation, and after-service support.
