Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint an accredited service provider to deliver Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Representative Training for 20 employees from the Chris Hani District, in accordance with the specified requirements. The training aims to enhance the safety and compliance capabilities of the employees in line with relevant occupational health and safety regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of SHE Representative Training for 20 employees from Chris Hani District.
• Training to be conducted over a period of 2 days, excluding weekends and public holidays, with sessions held at the DPWI offices in Queenstown.
• Submission of proof of accreditation and registration with relevant industry bodies.
• Provision of training materials, certificates of attendance, and facilitator CVs prior to training commencement.
• Post-training delivery of certificates bearing the company and departmental logos.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Accreditation with HWSETA or relevant industry bodies.
• Training must cover the following outline:
• Understanding occupational health and safety regulations.
• Identifying duties and powers of SHE Representatives.
• Legal obligations of employers and employees.
• Knowledge of committee structures and hazard recognition.
• Risk assessment methodologies and control measures.
• Workplace inspections, PPE use, incident investigations, and emergency procedures.
• Provision of a detailed CV and proof of facilitator qualifications.
• Training must be conducted in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
• All costs associated with training manuals, stationery, facilitator fees, travel, and taxes must be included in the bid.

Skills Requirements

The skills required from the service provider include:

• Proven experience in delivering SHE Representative training or similar occupational health and safety courses.
• Ability to develop and deliver training aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitator’s qualifications and experience in occupational health and safety training.
• Effective communication and presentation skills suitable for adult learning environments.
• Capability to produce and issue certificates of attendance with appropriate branding.
• Administrative skills to provide necessary documentation before and after training.
