Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint an accredited training provider to deliver training on Electronics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for nine (09) Electrical APTCoD students from Chris Hani District, in accordance with the specified requirements for the Eastern Cape Department of Public Works and Infrastructure.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Providing training on Electronics and PLCs at district offices in Komani, including practical modules such as component identification, circuit construction, soldering, fault finding, and use of oscilloscopes.
• Covering modules on PLC hardware, wiring, programming basics, advanced programming, industrial communication, and HMI integration.
• Ensuring training is conducted over a period of twenty (20) days, including weekends and public holidays, as specified.
• Providing necessary training materials, certification, and maintaining industry standards throughout the training process.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Proof of registration with recognized bodies such as QCTO or NAMB in Electrical trades.
• Delivery of modules covering electronic components, circuit construction, soldering, fault diagnosis, and oscilloscope usage.
• Modules on PLC introduction, hardware wiring, programming, communication, and final assessment.
• Adherence to industry standards, safety, and quality during training.
• Provision of attendance certificates with departmental logos and training certificates.
• Conducting training in a professional, organized environment with appropriate equipment and facilities.

Skills Requirements

The skills required from the training provider include:

• Expertise in electronics, circuit design, soldering, and fault diagnosis.
• Proficiency in PLC hardware, programming languages, and industrial communication protocols.
• Ability to deliver practical and theoretical training to students with diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in conducting industry-standard training sessions, assessments, and certification processes.
• Capacity to provide training materials, demonstrations, and practical exercises aligned with industry standards.
• Effective communication and organizational skills to ensure a professional training environment.
