Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to facilitate the construction and upgrading of the Bazini Sportsfield, including civil works, site infrastructure, buildings, and associated facilities such as ablution blocks, fencing, drainage, and signage, in accordance with specified technical standards and design requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Civil and earthworks including site leveling, earth filling, and compaction.
• Construction of sportsfield infrastructure such as soccer, netball, volleyball, and tennis courts, including associated access roads, parking bays, and open spaces.
• Building works including ablution blocks, storage facilities, and associated drainage and ventilation systems.
• Installation of fencing, gates, signage, and fixed furniture.
• Provision of stormwater management, rainwater harvesting tanks, and related site services.
• Roofing, wall construction, and finishing works compliant with specified standards.
• Electrical and mechanical installations such as ventilation systems and water supply.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with civil engineering standards for earthworks, waterproofing, and concrete works, including waterproof membranes, reinforcement, and foundation details.
• Construction of sports courts with specified dimensions, surfacing, and fencing, including steel and mesh fencing, gates, and access points.
• Building construction with specified wall types, plastering, painting, roofing, and ceiling systems, including timber trusses, roof sheeting, and waterproofing.
• Provision of ablution facilities with waterless dry-pit toilets, ventilation, drainage, and access covers, complying with relevant standards (e.g., SANS 10400, SANS 5859).
• Installation of stormwater drainage, rainwater tanks, and associated piping, with specified materials and finishes.
• Provision of signage, safety notices, and fixed furniture in accordance with standards and project specifications.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires contractors and consultants to possess:

• Proven experience in civil engineering, including earthworks, foundation, and concrete works.
• Expertise in sportsfield construction, including surfacing, fencing, and associated infrastructure.
• Competence in building construction, including masonry, plastering, roofing, and finishing works.
• Specialist skills in waterproofing, drainage systems, and stormwater management.
• Experience with installation of waterless sanitation facilities and ventilation systems.
• Capability to interpret and execute detailed technical drawings, including site layout, foundation, and elevation plans.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS 1215, SANS 5859, SANS 10400, and ISO 9001:2015.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
