Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a contractor for the operations and maintenance of the Krantzfontein Landfill Site, including landfill management, recycling facility management, composting operations, and associated infrastructure. The aim is to ensure efficient waste management, environmental compliance, safety, and sustainability of landfill and recycling activities.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Preliminary and general fixed and time-related charges for de-establishment and operational support.
• Landfill operations including waste acceptance, cover material import, road maintenance, leachate management, site audits, and safety management.
• Management of recycling facilities and recyclers, including provision of protective clothing and facility upkeep.
• Fencing, building maintenance, signage, and infrastructure repairs around the site.
• Composting facility operations, including waste sorting, shredding, windrow management, environmental compliance, and product handling.
• Provision of provisional sums for site preparation and stormwater drainage.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• De-establishment and operational support for the landfill site.
• Provision of plant, personnel, and equipment for waste handling, cover material import, road maintenance, and leachate treatment.
• Regular site audits and compliance monitoring against operational licenses.
• Management of recycling operations, including safety gear and facility management.
• Construction, maintenance, and replacement of fencing, signage, and site infrastructure.
• Design and operation of a composting facility with waste sorting, shredding, windrow management, and environmental controls.
• Provision of provisional sums for site preparation activities.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder should possess:
