Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 13(2) of the Preferential Procurement Regulation, 2017, that abovementioned tender has been cancelled due to the following reason:
Section 13(1) of the above mention Regulation states:
An organ of state may, before the award of a tender, cancel a tender invitation if there is a material irregularity in the tender process.

BAVIAANS RIVER PHASE 2: CONSTRUCTION OF EROSION PROTECTION STRUCTURES IN BAVIAANS RIVER, GENADENDAL
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The works, as described, is part of the Disaster Management Programme for the Baviaans River situated next to Genadendal, Western Cape. The bid will be a measured bid for the works described and is to include material, labour and machinery. The works must be completed within a 5-month (definition as defined further) contract period.
The scope of works entails the construction of 11 (eleven) gabion structures (groynes) in the Baviaans River over an approximate distance of 1 km.
Bidders must have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 5 CE / (or 4 CE PE) or higher.
The tender process is as follows:
BID DEADLINE: The closing date for the bid is 14th July 2023 strictly at 12H00.
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as “BID NO. 5/2023 – BAVIAANS RIVER PHASE 2” and placed in the tender box available at Reception, Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl. No e-mailed, faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted.
There will be a compulsory site meeting. The meeting will be held at the Genadendal Werf (opposite the Genadendal museum) situated in Moravia Street (GPS Co-ordinates: 34° 2’1.96?S, 19°33’27.41?E) on 3rd July 2023 at 10:30.
Notice of attendance to be given no later than 12:00 on 29th June 2023 as bid documents will be handed out at the site meeting. Please take note that bidders not attending the compulsory site meeting will not be eligible to submit a bid. A locality map (pdf format) with directions to the site is available on request.
Any deviations from the original tender document will be sent out as an addendum to the contractors attending the compulsory site meeting.
