Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint experienced agriculture and agro-processing mentors to train and support identified projects over a period of thirty-six (36) months. The mentors will guide farmers and enterprises in livestock, crop production, and agro-processing to improve productivity, business management, technical skills, and social sustainability, thereby contributing to broader economic development and empowerment targets.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Mentoring livestock projects (beef, dairy, sheep, goats) and crop projects (vegetables, field crops, grains, agro-processing).
• Providing technical and business guidance to mentees, including development of business plans, best practices, and operational support.
• Conducting regular farm visits, assessments, and training seminars (minimum two per annum).
• Supporting project selection, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and policies.
• Facilitating organizational and management development within the projects.
• Reporting on mentorship activities and outcomes periodically.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Mentors must possess at least a National Diploma in Agriculture (Animal Production for livestock clusters; Plant/Agronomy/Horticulture for crop clusters).
• Ability to develop and implement mentorship plans based on experience and industry standards.
• Proficiency in farm management, livestock/crop production principles, financial analysis, and agribusiness practices.
• Capability to conduct baseline trials, assess project progress, and provide continuous technical support.
• Experience in organizing seminars, training sessions, and facilitating knowledge transfer.
• Ability to prepare and submit reports with evidence of activities and outcomes.
• Compliance with all relevant policies, standards, and quality assurance measures.
