Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to design, construct, and install ablution facilities at new cemeteries in Durnacoal, ensuring facilities are accessible, hygienic, and meet community needs. The project aims to provide separate amenities for males, females, and persons with disabilities, incorporating both flushing and pit toilets.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Design of ablution facilities based on approved plans.
• Construction of the facilities, including toilets, water tanks, and handwashing basins.
• Installation of water supply connections, sanitation systems (sewerage or septic tanks), and accessibility features.
• Provision of facilities for both flushing and pit toilets for males, females, and disabled users.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the facilities are as follows:

• Toilets: Constructed using first brick with options for flushing and pit toilets.
• Water Supply: Connection to potable water sources.
• Handwashing Basins: Made of ceramic or similar durable material.
• Sanitation: Connection to sewerage systems or septic tanks.
• Materials: Use of durable, weather-resistant materials suitable for the environment.
• Accessibility: Facilities must be accessible to persons with disabilities, ensuring ease of manoeuvrability.

Skills Requirements

The tender emphasizes the need for experienced contractors with the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience with at least three completed fencing projects in the last 5 years, supported by appointment letters and completion certificates.
• Experience with at least two projects in the last 5 years, with relevant certificates and extension approvals if applicable.
• At least one fencing project completed within the last 5 years.
• Relevant experience of the proposed foreman, with curriculum vitae attached.

Additionally, bidders must employ staff that satisfy EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme) requirements and demonstrate local employment practices.
