MAIN TRANSFORMER FROM DURBAN TO SUNBURY AND SUPPLY ALL ASSOCIATED CABLES AT SUNBURY 3KV DC SUB
STATION UNDER WITBANK DEPOT
It is estimated that tenderers should have a cidb contractor grading of 4EP or higher.
Preferences are offered to tenderers who have a CIDB Contactor Designation of 4EP or higher grading

Stage One - Eligibility with regards to attendance at the compulsory clarification meeting:
An authorised representative of the tendering entity or a representative of a tendering entity that intends to form a Joint Venture (JV)
must attend the compulsory clarification meeting in terms C2.7
Any tenderer that fails to meet the stipulated eligibility criteria will be regarded as an unacceptable tender.
2. Stage Two - Eligibility in terms of the Construction Industry Development Board:
a)Only those tenderers who are registered with the CIDB or are capable of being so prior to the evaluation of submissions, in a
contractor grading designation equal to or higher than a contractor grading designation determined in accordance with the sum
tendered or a value determined in accordance with Regulation 25 (1B) or 25(7A) of the Construction Industry Development
Regulations, designation of 4EP or higher class of construction work, are eligible to have their tenders evaluated.
Any tenderer that fails to meet the stipulated eligibility criteria will be regarded as an unacceptable tender.
Stage Three - Functionality:
•T2.2-3 Availability of plant and equipment to install traction transformer at the substations
•T2.2.4 Work Programme for two (02) Weeks
•T2.2.5 Previous experience in installation of main traction transformer at the substations
Only those tenderers who attain the minimum number of evaluation points for Functionality will be eligible for further evaluation, failure
to meet the minimum threshold (80 Points)will result in the tender being disqualified and removed from any further consideration.

A compulsory clarification meeting with representitives of the Employer will take place at Transnet Freight Rail, 26 Plein Street,
Middelburg Electrical Depot, Mpumalanga on 27 February 2023 starting at 09h00.
The closing time for receipt of Tenders is 10h00 on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
Emailed and Late Tenders will not be accepted.
Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued.
