GEORGE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY INVITES TENDERS FOR ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF A
GROUND-MOUNTED 12MW (AC TO GRID) PV PLANT AND 66/11KV SUBSTATION IN GEORGE, INCLUDING A TWO-YEAR
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE PERIOD.
It is estimated that tenderers should have a cidb contractor grading of 8EP or higher.
Only tenderers who have proven previous experience in ground-mounted PV Plant installations larger than 1000kWAC AND New
Substation Construction and 66kV-related works with a minimum firm capacity of 10MVA AND 66kV overhead steel monopole lines
worth at least R500,000.00, within the last 10 years is required and is part of the eligibility criteria of this tender. A suitably experienced
PrCPM or PMI registered professional Project Manager that has managed at least three projects with a minimum value of R30 million,
an Installer that is a registered installation electrician as defined by the Department of Labour with at least three solar PV projects with a
cumulative output of 500kWp for which this electrician has provide compliant COCs, an ECSA registered professional Electrical Design
Engineer (PrEng) with at least five years’ experience in designing grid-tied solar PV plants, an ECSA register professional Civil
Engineer or Technologist (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng), an ECSA registered professional Structural Engineer or technologist (Pr Eng or PR
Tech Eng) and a site agent with an ORHVS authorised person certifications with at least ten years’ experience supervising electrical
projects with a minimum voltage of 66kV must form part of the list of key personnel to be assigned to this project. are eligible to submit
tenders.
A non-refundable tender deposit of R800.00 payable by proof of deposit , cash or bank guaranteed cheque is required on collection of
the Tender documents.
Interested contractors can collect bid documents from the offices of Neil Lyners and Associates, Building Nr 8, Fairview Office Park, 1st
Street, George, as from Wednesday 20 March 2024. A non-refundable tender fee of R 800-00 (Eight Hundred Rand) for each set of
documents, payable by either EFT into the bank account of George Municipality, or direct payment at the Supply Chain Management
Offices, First Floor, Civic Centre, York Street, George, is applicable. Bank details for the EFT are as follows : FNB, Branch Code
210554, Cheque Account No. 6286 9623 150, Reference “ENG-003/2024 Tender Deposit”. Proof of payment is required when
collecting the tender documents.

A compulsory clarification meeting with representitives of the Employer will take place at Committee Room, George Municipal Offices,
Electro Technical Services, Brick Road, George Industrial on 05 April 2024 starting at 11h00.
The closing time for receipt of Tenders is 12h00 on Friday, April 26, 2024.
Late Tenders will not be accepted.
