Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure cleaning services in KZN Midlands and surrounding areas for Transnet Property over a period of thirty-six (36) months. The aim is to ensure the provision of high-quality cleaning services that meet safety, operational, and health standards, supporting the maintenance and cleanliness of the specified properties.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of cleaning services across a minimum gross lettable area of 20,000 m².
• Implementation of cleaning operations, including carpet and upholstery cleaning.
• Management of chemicals, equipment, and chemicals storage.
• Transporting staff to remote depots, including planning and scheduling.
• Handling of chemicals, including storage, decanting, labelling, and disposal.
• Development and submission of detailed service implementation and method statements.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safety plans.
• Staff employment, labour relations, and retention strategies.
• Coordination with local public transport for staff commuting.
• Monitoring, reporting, and auditing of service performance and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements focus on demonstrating the contractor's capability to deliver quality cleaning services, including:

• Submission of a comprehensive service implementation plan covering key elements such as transport, safety, chemicals, communication, and staffing.
• Provision of detailed CVs of key personnel with relevant experience in commercial cleaning contracts, particularly for areas exceeding 20,000 m².
• Submission of a health and safety plan or risk assessment specific to the cleaning works.
• Method statement outlining how cleaning and hygiene services will be executed, covering PPE, maintenance schedules, and key performance indicators.
• Evidence of previous experience in similar cleaning services, supported by appointment letters, contracts, or purchase orders.
