Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, install, and commission a 3kV DC 6MVA Traction Transformer at the Hamelfontein 3kV DC Traction Substation under the supervision of the Control Depot Engineer in Ermelo.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of the specified traction transformer, associated equipment, and electrical products.
• Delivery of materials within the stipulated timeframe (material delivery in two weeks).
• Installation of the transformer and related control cables, rectifiers, and associated equipment.
• Commissioning of the installed equipment at the designated substation.
• Compliance with local content requirements and declaration procedures.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Supply of a 3kV DC, 6MVA traction transformer, along with associated equipment such as reactors and electrical cables.
• Designated products include transformers, reactors, and associated electrical equipment.
• Installation of control cables and rectifiers with all necessary associated control cables.
• Adherence to safety, health, environment, quality, and risk management standards (SHERQ).
• Delivery of materials within two weeks and proper sequencing of activities as per the work plan.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Capability to deliver and install high-voltage traction equipment in accordance with technical specifications.
• Experience in handling similar traction transformer projects, including installation and commissioning.
• Knowledge of local content requirements and compliance with declaration procedures.
• Ability to prepare and submit detailed work plans, including sequencing activities and material availability timelines.
• Understanding of safety and environmental standards relevant to electrical and traction substation projects.
