Numerous areas of the Merensky Library are dated, and continuous change is required to keep up with the latest study and technology trends to make sure the space stays relevant to current and future learning initiatives. It is also to encourage students to make use of the facilities and information available to enhance their abilities. The scope of the work consists of the refurbishment of Level 2 of the Merensky Study Centre (Building 4053) into a new Maker Space and Immersive Technology Hub. It also includes the construction of an interconnecting timber gallery in the Merensky 2 Library between Level 3 & 4 with integrated study pods. See attached document for full details. Compulsory Information Session and Site Visit (Only suitably qualified representatives to attend the Compulsory Site Visit) Date 8 September 2025 Time 10:00 (AM) Venue Merensky 2 Library – Auditorium Room 3-23 Contractors to present identification at the gate (allow min. 30 minutes for registration) An attendance register will be signed and considered as the mandatory document used to verify that the bidder attended the session. The attendance register shall be closed 10 minutes after the time indicated above. Late arrivals of bidders shall be disqualified from the tender evaluation process. Prospective bidders must read the bid specification document and bring a copy to the information session. Please print the tender document and bring it together with your ID/Driver’s License to gain access at the Security gate.

Required Supplier Documents

Tax Clearance Status PIN: SARS Tax Clearance Status PIN(Must be valid for at least 6 months from date of submission & Contractor must be compliant on SARS online verification of compliance status)

Company Registration Document (Copy must be clear): Document Should Reflect The Company Name, Registration number, date of registration and active Directors or Members

Valid B-BBEE Certificate (Sector Specific if Required in the Tender): Valid B-BBEE Certificate from a SANAS accredited verification agency or sworn affidavit as prescribed by the B-BBEE codes of good practice per sector

VAT Registration: Copy of VAT registration certificate. In the abscence of VAT Registration provide a letter with reasons for not being registered for VAT
