The primary objective is to appoint a qualified contractor to rationalise, service, and maintain the vacuum plant room at Helderberg Hospital over a 36-month period. The project ensures uninterrupted, reliable hospital suction services essential for clinical operations, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Scope of Work

  • Rationalisation: Systematic review and optimisation of the existing vacuum plant room to improve efficiency, reliability, and alignment with current healthcare infrastructure standards.
  • Service & Maintenance: Routine preventive servicing, inspection, and testing of vacuum compressors, storage vessels, control systems, and distribution piping.
  • Corrective Repairs: Prompt diagnosis and restoration of system faults to minimise downtime and maintain clinical continuity.
  • Compliance Management: Adherence to all applicable health, safety, environmental, and medical gas industry regulations throughout the contract duration.

  • Tax Compliance: Full compliance with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) at the tender closing date.
  • Mandatory Site Meeting: Attendance at a compulsory clarification session on 12 November 2026 at 11:00 at Helderberg Hospital. Late arrival results in immediate disqualification.

It verifies the contractor’s financial stability, technical resources, and managerial capacity to handle complex mechanical installations and maintenance contracts.

SAQCC Medical Gas Practitioner Registration: Mandatory accreditation confirming that the contractor employs a qualified specialist authorised to design, install, test, and maintain medical gas systems. Joint Ventures, Consortia and Subcontracting:

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.

Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements

To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting

You will need to supply your details on every tender you are interested in tendering for. For this you need an active Business Listing - Register and Login at My Account to create a Business Listing

NOTE: This is not a tender application form, it is meant to facilitate the meeting of partners to form a Joint Venture or Subcontractor relationship for this tender only
