Objectives

The primary objective is to procure a qualified, compliant, and capable contractor to execute the installation of air compressor pressure systems for the Department of Defence. This initiative aims to establish reliable pneumatic infrastructure to support operational readiness, facility maintenance, and defence-related mechanical services.

Scope of Work

The scope encompasses the end-to-end installation of air compressor pressure infrastructure, including but not limited to:

• Layout, fabrication, and installation of pressure-rated piping networks, valves, regulators, and associated fittings.
• Site preparation, alignment, and secure mounting of compressor pressure components.
• Pressure testing, leak detection, flushing, and system commissioning.
• Final inspection, documentation handover, and compliance verification against Department of Defence specifications and applicable engineering standards.

Technical Requirements

• Contractor Grading: Tenderers must hold a minimum CIDB contractor grading of 1ME or higher.
• Mandatory Registrations: Eligibility is restricted to contractors registered on the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), the Central Supplier Database (CSD), and those holding valid tax compliance status.
• Submission Protocols: Tenders must strictly follow the prescribed formatting, sealing, addressing, delivery, and assessment guidelines detailed in the official tender documentation. Late or electronically submitted tenders will be rejected.
• Compliance Standards: All work must adhere to South African National Standards (SANS) for pressure systems, occupational health and safety legislation, and Department of Defence facility regulations.
