DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WESTERN CAPE INVITES TENDERS FOR SCOPE/SPECIFICATIONS:

INCOMING MUNICIPALITY MAIN SUPPLY

28MM STAINLESS STEEL MALE BALL VALVE TO BE INSTALLED BEFORE STAINLESS STEEL STRAINER & TEE TO BE
INSTALLED DOWNSTREAM ON THE INCOMING MAIN. AFTER TEE A SECOND STAINLESS STEEL STRAINER WILL BE
INSTALLED AND A 28MM MALE BALL VALVE TO BE INSTALLED. THIS WOULD BE TO CLEAN THE STRAINERS FROM
SEDIMENT BUILD UP.
28MM STAINLESS STEEL MALE BALL VALVE TO BE INSTALLED AT THE BOTTOM OF TEE.
DEPTH OF TRENCH TO BE DUGGED 1M AND WIDTH OF TRENCH TO BE 600MM, CONTRACTOR SHOULD BE MINDFUL THAT
WE HAVE AN EXISTING FIRE HYDRANT LINE RUNNING ACROSS.
ALL 28MM GALVANIZE PIPES THAT WILL BE USED, SHOULD BE EPOXY COATED INSIDE AND OUTSIDE.
ALL PAVING TO BE REMOVED AND TO BE MADE GOOD ON COMPLETION OF LAYING ALL PIPES.
CONTRACTOR TO BE SWIFT WHEN REMOVING AND REPLACING PAVING AS TO AVOID ANY DISRUPTION TO PARKING
SPACE FOR VISITORS AND STAFF.
PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE TO BE INSTALLED ON THE INCOMING WATER SUPPLY.

MORTUARY TO KITCHEN PLANTROOM

FROM THE MORTUARY ONTO THE PARAPET, WE REQUEST TO HAVE THE GALVANISED PIPE TO BE LAID ONTO THE
PARAPET AND TO BE PROPERLY SECURED USING SPLIT RING PIPE HANGER HEAVY DUTY ADJUSTABLE PIPE BRACKET
CLAMPS, THIS WILL THEN LEAD INTO THE KITCHEN PLANTROOM.
28MM GALVANIZED PIPE TO BE USED AND UPON ENTRY INTO THE KITCHEN PLANTROOM, 28MM COPPER CLASS 1 PIPE
WILL BE USED.
FURTHER DOWNSTREAM 28MM COPPER CLASS 1 PIPE WILL BE COUPLED UP WITH A REDUCED END TEE 28MM X 15MM X
28MM TEE COPCAL OF WHICH THE 15MM WILL THEN FEED THE RESERVOIR STAINLESS STEEL TANK AND FEEDING THE
STEAM BOILERS.
28MM CLASS 1 COPPER PIPE WILL BE LED DOWN TO MAIN KITCHEN USING THE SAME CORE DRILLED HOLE OF WHICH
STEAM PIPES ARE ENTERING.
WE REQUIRE THAT A 40MM HOLE BE MADE IN MANAGERS OFFICE (CORE DRILLED).
28MM CLASS 1 COPPER PIPE WILL BE RUNNING DOWN STREAM TO BE COUPLED UP WITH THE STEAM OVEN OF WHICH A
28MM LEVER VALVE WILL BE INSTALLED.
FROM THE STEAM BOILERS 28MM CLASS 1 COPPER PIPE WILL BE RUN TO THE OUTSIDE OF WHICH IT WILL CONTINUE
ALONGSIDE THE PARAPET. IT WILL THEN ENTER A SHAFT.

1ST FLOOR SHAFT TO THE THEATRE AUTO CLAVE

FROM THE SHAFT 28MM CLASS 1 COPPER PIPE WILL BE LED DOWNSTREAM INTO THE PASSAGE OF WHICH IT WILL RUN
STRAIGHT INTO THEATRE PASSAGE.
28MM CONEX TEE TO BE INSTALLED ON THE INCOMING LINE.
28MM LEVER VALVE TO BE INSTALLED AFTER THE 28MM TEE.
EXISTING 28MM PIPE WILL BE BLANKED OFF WHICH LEADING TO THE AUTOCLAVE ROOM.
NEW 28MM CLASS 1 COPPER WILL BE CONNECTED WITH EXISTING 28MM COPPER PIPE.
ALL FINAL MEASUREMENTS TO BE TAKEN BY CONTRACTOR TO DETERMINE CORRECT & ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS.
·ALL PAVING TO BE REMOVED AND TO BE MADE GOOD ON COMPLETION OF LAYING ALL PIPES.
It is estimated that tenderers should have a cidb contractor grading of 1GB or higher.
Preferences are offered to tenderers who IS A BBB-EE STATUS LEVEL CONTRIBUTOR

A compulsory clarification meeting with representitives of the Employer will take place at 10 HOSPITAL STREET, LEMOENKLOOF
PAARL 7646 on 30 September 2025 starting at 11h00.
