Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitable contractor to undertake the Water and Sanitation Phase 03 project at Khanyisa Secondary School in Dalton, eThekwini Region. The project aims to improve water and sanitation infrastructure within a contract period of six months, ensuring the delivery of quality services aligned with the Department of Education's standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes the execution of water and sanitation infrastructure upgrades or installations at Khanyisa Secondary School. The project encompasses all activities necessary to complete the water and sanitation phase, as specified in the bid documents, within the stipulated contract period of six months.

Technical Requirements

• Contractor must hold a CIDB Grade 4GB or higher.
• Site visits must be conducted at the bidder's own cost to familiarize with site conditions.
• Mandatory pre-tender briefing to be attended by all bidders.
• Bid submissions must be complete, adhering to the phased evaluation process outlined in the bid document.
• All technical enquiries should be directed to the specified contact persons.
• Bidder must produce original proof of payment if requesting a hard copy of the bid document.
• Compliance with the specific goal requirements, including ownership by Black People, with appropriate documentary proof.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in water and sanitation infrastructure projects, particularly in school environments.
• Ability to meet CIDB grading requirements and demonstrate capacity to complete the project within six months.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards applicable to water and sanitation works.
• Capacity to coordinate site activities efficiently and adhere to project timelines.
• Understanding of procurement and contractual procedures as per departmental guidelines.
