Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitable contractor to complete the Mandeni Primary School as part of the Storm Damage Disaster Programme Phase 16 within the eThekwini Region of KwaZulu-Natal. The project aims to repair and finalize the school infrastructure damaged by storm events, ensuring the delivery of safe and functional educational facilities.

Scope

The scope of work includes the completion of the Mandeni Primary School project, which involves construction activities aligned with the storm damage disaster recovery efforts. The project duration is six (06) months, and the work must adhere to the specifications and requirements outlined in the bid documents. Bidders are expected to familiarize themselves with the site conditions and logistics, which are to be assessed independently at their own cost.

Technical Requirements

• Contractor must possess a CIDB grading of 4GB or higher.
• Completion of the project within a period of six months.
• Adherence to the bid specifications, including proper sealing, addressing, and delivery of bid documents.
• Compliance with the mandatory bid evaluation and phased assessment process as detailed in the bid documentation.
• Site visits are encouraged for bidders to understand logistical and access conditions.
• Potential for multiple awards, limited to the CIDB grading ceiling, with considerations for previous contract completion status.

Skills and Requirements

• Proven experience in similar construction or school completion projects, with appropriate CIDB grading.
• Ability to demonstrate capacity and resources to complete the project within the specified timeframe.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, bid submission protocols, and compliance with departmental requirements.
• Financial stability evidenced through the ability to make a non-refundable payment of R380.00 for tender document collection, if a hard copy is required.
• Familiarity with local conditions and access logistics, as site visits are at the bidder’s own cost.
• For specific goal points, bidders must provide relevant proof documents such as sworn affidavits and proof of enterprise location.
