Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to manufacture, test, supply, and deliver pole-mounted service distribution boxes, streetlight control boxes, and meter boxes to the City of Cape Town. Scope

• Manufacture of different configurations (8-Way, 5-Way, 3-Way, 2-Way, configurable, streetlight control, and meter boxes) using specified materials (GRP, polyethylene).
• Testing and certification according to specified standards (e.g., SANS, IEC, BS).
• Packaging, transportation, and off-loading at designated sites or stores.
• Provision of prototypes for approval prior to mass production.
• Technical documentation, drawings, and quality assurance plans.
• Compliance with technical specifications, safety, and environmental standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements are detailed and include:

• Manufacture of SDBs, SLCBs, and MBs from specified materials (GRP, polyethylene) with specified dimensions, IP ratings (IP43), and environmental resistance.
• Design features such as internal mounting panels, cable entry provisions, locking mechanisms, and safety features.
• Compliance with standards including SANS 121, SANS 141, SANS 556-1, IEC 60947-2, IEC 60898-1, and others.
