Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a contractual agreement for the provision of industrial cleaning services for equipment, workshops, and substations at Transnet Port Terminals in the Western Cape. The aim is to ensure the maintenance of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency across designated facilities through professional cleaning services.

Scope

The scope encompasses the comprehensive industrial cleaning of specified equipment, workshops, and substations within the Transnet Port Terminals in the Western Cape. It includes the provision of cleaning services over a contractual period of thirty-six (36) months, covering all related activities necessary to meet Transnet’s operational standards and requirements as detailed in the Schedule of Requirements and Work Orders.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of industrial cleaning services that meet specified quality and safety standards.
• Adherence to railway safety regulations and compliance with Schedule 1 specifications.
• Use of appropriate cleaning equipment, materials, and environmentally friendly products.
• Implementation of risk management procedures, including the preparation and maintenance of a contract Risk Register.
• Provision of qualified personnel trained in health, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Compliance with South African legislation, including Occupational Health and Safety Act and environmental regulations.
• Maintenance of records of services rendered, including detailed documentation supporting invoices and compliance.
• Adherence to confidentiality and data protection requirements as per the NDA and POPIA.

Skills Requirements

• Technical expertise in industrial cleaning methods and equipment.
• Knowledge of railway safety standards and operational safety procedures.
• Experience in managing large-scale cleaning operations within industrial or port environments.
• Ability to develop and implement risk management and safety protocols.
