Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure cleaning services for the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure at the uMkhanyakude District Office in Mkuze for a period of 24 months. The service aims to ensure the provision of standard domestic cleaning and day-to-day maintenance to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within specified facilities.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of cleaning staff (3 cleaners) for the uMkhanyakude District Office in Mkuze.
• Cleaning of designated areas such as offices, toilets, kitchens, boardrooms, stores, hubs, reception, and other specified rooms.
• Supply and use of environmentally friendly cleaning materials and equipment.
• Adherence to specified cleaning frequencies (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, bi-annual, annual).
• Maintenance of hygiene standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provision of equipment and consumables as detailed in the specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of environmentally friendly, SABS-approved cleaning agents and equipment.
• Adherence to specified cleaning procedures for different surfaces and areas.
• Provision of cleaning materials such as detergents, disinfectants, air fresheners, and disposables.
• Use of PPEs by cleaning staff.
• Regular cleaning and maintenance as per the schedule, including special cleaning tasks like floor sealing and carpet cleaning.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
• Appointing a supervisor to oversee service delivery and conduct monthly inspections.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for service providers include:

• Registration with the Bargaining Council for Cleaning Services Industry (BCCCI).
• Valid proof of registration with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA).
• Experience in providing cleaning services in a government or similar institutional environment.
• Knowledge of environmentally friendly cleaning practices and materials.
• Ability to supply and manage cleaning equipment and consumables.
• Capacity to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Competence to manage and supervise cleaning staff effectively.
• Provision of proof of company registration, B-BBEE status, and relevant documentation as required.
