Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a qualified professional civil and structural engineering service provider to support the construction of the Xhora Mouth Clinic. The services aim to ensure the successful design, oversight, and completion of civil and structural works in accordance with the project requirements, legislation, and best practices.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of comprehensive civil and structural engineering consultancy services for the construction of Xhora Mouth Clinic.
• Design, site investigations, reports, and oversight of civil and structural works.
• Coordination with other professional teams (architectural, electrical, mechanical, quantity surveying, project management, etc.).
• Provision of services throughout all project stages: inception, design, documentation, procurement, construction, and close-out.
• On-site supervision, approvals, and decision-making related to civil and structural engineering aspects.
• Contributing to skills development and training during project execution.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist or Technician.
• Experience in carrying out on-site investigations, producing reports, designing civil and structural components, and overseeing site works.
• Provision of qualified civil and structural engineers for the entire project duration (36 months).
• Compliance with the latest editions of relevant standards, including the Civil Engineering Manual PW 374 and the Manual for Consulting Structural Engineers.
• Adherence to the scope of services and fee guidelines published by the Department of Public Works.
• Provision of professional indemnity insurance within 21 days of appointment.
• Coordination with local authorities and stakeholders, ensuring quality control and compliance with legislation.

Skills Requirements

The successful tenderer must demonstrate:

• Registration and good standing with ECSA as a Professional Engineer, Technologist, or Technician.
• Proven experience in civil and structural engineering projects, especially in construction supervision and site investigations.
• Capability to produce detailed designs, reports, and oversee construction activities effectively.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders throughout all project phases.
• Skills in project management, quality assurance, and compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
• Capacity to contribute to skills development and training during project execution.
• Provision of qualified personnel with relevant experience and credentials for the entire project duration.
