Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of the Timbadola Sawmill environment, including the estate, employee’s village, personnel houses, and townhouses. The aim is to maintain a clean, safe, and environmentally sustainable terrain that supports operational efficiency and community well-being.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Upkeep and cleaning of Timbadola’s estate, employee’s village, personnel houses, and two houses in Hanglip Louis Trichardt.
• Provision of cleaning tools and consumables (detergents, brushes, brooms).
• Maintenance of terrain with dense weeds, recreational areas, and surrounding environment.
• Management of landscaping, gardening, and general terrain maintenance activities.
• Work to be adapted seasonally, with a focus on higher workload during the wet months (September to April) and reduced activity during the dry months (May to August).

The work site is located between Louis Trichardt and Thohoyandou on the R524 road, approximately 50 km from Louis Trichardt.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of all necessary equipment and tools for terrain maintenance and gardening services.
• Supply of consumables such as detergents, brushes, brooms, PPE, and other safety gear.
• Employment of adequately trained personnel, including a site supervisor with NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Compliance with labour statutory requirements, including employment conditions under the Basic Conditions of Employment and Labour Relations Act.
• Provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety boots, overalls, hats, ear plugs, gloves, T-shirts, and raincoats, with regular evaluation and replacement.
• Use of vehicles that meet safety standards for transporting personnel, with proper seat belts and roll-over protection.
• Adherence to health and safety protocols, including security clearances for employees and subcontractors, and signing non-disclosure agreements.
• Compliance with environmental and legal regulations, including occupational health and safety laws and environmental management standards.
• Implementation of quality management systems, including submission of quality policies and regular inspections.
• Participation in briefing sessions, presentations, and site visits as required.
