Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a suitable service provider to render comprehensive cleaning services at the Contact Centre, Bisho Massacre Memorial Heritage Centre, Bisho, for a period of twelve (12) months. The aim is to ensure the premises are maintained in a clean, hygienic, and orderly condition, adhering to specified standards and norms.

Scope

The scope of work includes cleaning and maintenance services across various areas such as offices, corridors, restrooms, lifts, conference rooms, reception areas, staircases, open areas, ablutions, and outside areas like parking lots and pavements. Specific tasks encompass dusting, waste disposal, wall and paintwork cleaning, glass and metal work, ablution facilities sanitation, window cleaning, deep cleaning of carpets, blinds, fridges, microwaves, and external cleaning of glass frames up to elevated heights. The services cover both routine daily tasks and periodic deep cleaning activities, with special attention to high and elevated surfaces requiring equipment like lifts or vertical transporters.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of all cleaning materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant SANS standards.
• Adherence to specified cleaning standards, norms, and safety regulations, including the use of color-coded equipment and materials to prevent cross-contamination.
• Cleaning of internal and external glass surfaces, including elevated glass frames, using appropriate lifting equipment.
• Maintenance of hygiene and safety standards, including proper signage for wet floors and safe working practices.
• Regular cleaning of all designated areas as per the detailed task list, with specified frequencies (daily, weekly, bi-annual, etc.).
• Provision of personnel with proper identification, attire, and training, complying with health and safety regulations.
• Implementation of quality control measures, including inspections, testing, and adherence to specified cleaning protocols.
• Compliance with all relevant acts, regulations, and standards applicable to cleaning services in South Africa.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in commercial cleaning services, with at least three (3) years within the recent five-year period, supported by testimonials.
• Knowledge of cleaning standards, safety procedures, and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals in line with SANS standards.
• Ability to operate specialized equipment such as lifts or vertical transporters for cleaning elevated glass surfaces.
• Competence in managing waste disposal, hazardous materials, and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Proper training in health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Capacity to coordinate cleaning schedules, liaise with departmental officials, and respond promptly to service requirements.
• Ability to provide qualified personnel with valid identification, appropriate attire, and necessary certifications, including membership with recognized cleaning associations.
