Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit proposals from qualified contractors for the rehabilitation of the Inkosi Khumalo Modular Library, specifically focusing on the floor and foundation works. The project aims to restore and improve the structural integrity of the library to ensure its continued use and service delivery to the community.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Rehabilitation of the floor of the Inkosi Khumalo Modular Library.
• Rehabilitation of the foundation of the library.
• Site preparation and related civil engineering works necessary for the rehabilitation.

The project involves civil engineering contractors capable of executing the specified rehabilitation works as per the project requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Contractors must have a CIDB grading of 2GB or higher, or be capable of registration before evaluation.
• Joint ventures are eligible provided all members are CIDB registered, the lead partner has a 2GB grading, and the combined grading meets the project requirements.
• Submission of sealed tenders endorsed with the project code and description.
• Compliance with the evaluation criteria, including a minimum functionality score of 70% for progression to the next stage.
• Adherence to submission deadlines and tender procedures, including submission in sealed envelopes and at the specified tender box.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from bidders include:

• Proven experience in civil engineering projects, particularly in floor and foundation rehabilitation.
• Registration with the CIDB at the required grading level (2GB or higher).
• Capability to undertake civil engineering infrastructure works within the specified scope and standards.
• Ability to comply with procurement and contractual procedures, including submission of necessary documentation and adherence to evaluation criteria.
