Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to rent available warehouse/storage space at the Durban ICC for a period of 11 months. The service provider must submit a detailed proposal/motivation for the business venture they intend to undertake within the rental area, ensuring that their offering complements and adds value to the services currently provided by Durban ICC to its visitors and patrons.

Scope

The scope of the supply includes:

• Rental of space at the Durban ICC premises for 11 months.
• Provision of a detailed business proposal/motivation for the intended use of the rental space.
• Compliance with special lease conditions, including accreditation for customers accessing the premises.
• Adherence to insurance, legal, and administrative requirements as specified in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Submission of a detailed proposal/motivation demonstrating the business venture within the rental space.
• Compliance with minimum mandatory requirements, including registration on relevant databases (CSD and EThekwini Vendor Portal), valid tax clearance, BBBEE certificate, and declaration forms.
• Provision of third-party public liability insurance cover of at least 5 million rand, with proof submitted at lease signing.
• Adherence to special lease conditions, such as customer accreditation and limited weekend access (not exceeding two weekends per month).
• Compliance with POPI Act regulations regarding personal data processing.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Experience in managing rental or leasing arrangements within large conference or event venues.
• Ability to develop and present comprehensive business proposals/motivations.
• Knowledge of legal, insurance, and compliance standards relevant to leasing and operations within a conference environment.
• Capacity to adhere to administrative and regulatory requirements, including database registration and tax compliance.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with the Durban ICC and relevant authorities.
