Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to gather information from experienced respondents capable of supplying, installing, operating, and maintaining an Automated Vehicle Inspection Booth within the port environment. The ultimate goal is to support Transnet's strategic investment at the Durban RORO Terminal to enhance operational efficiency, reduce claims, and align with international best practices by electronically inspecting vehicles entering or departing the terminal.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Leasing, supply, installation, and maintenance of an Automated Vehicle Inspection Booth at the Durban RORO Terminal.
• Operational period of five (5) years, with detailed scope covering the entire lifecycle from supply to maintenance.
• Provision of a solution that electronically captures high-resolution images and documentation of vehicles, with seamless integration into internal systems.
• Ensuring the booth meets all specified inspection capabilities, image quality, processing speed, and operational standards.
• Adherence to technical, operational, regulatory, and data security requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the automated vehicle inspection booth include:

• Capability to electronically inspect vehicles and capture high-resolution images and data.
• Meeting all inspection capabilities outlined in the scope, including performance standards for image quality and processing speed.

• Technical expertise in deploying high-resolution imaging and data processing solutions suitable for port operations.
• Ability to meet performance standards related to image quality, processing speed, and operational reliability.
• Knowledge of port safety, operational regulations, and data security protocols.
• Capacity to provide ongoing maintenance and technical support for the duration of the contract.
• Compliance with B-BBEE and tax legislation requirements as specified in the tender documentation.
