Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a panel for the hiring of refuse compactors and skip trucks for a period of three years to support the municipal waste management services of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of refuse compactors and skip trucks on an as-needed basis, with the fleet to be hired on a dry rate basis. The fleet must be less than six years old, and service providers are responsible for all mechanical repairs and maintenance. Delivery of equipment must occur within 24 hours of order placement, and all services are to be rendered at the municipality’s designated locations, including delivery and pickup.

Technical Requirements

• Refuse compactors and skip trucks must be new, unused, and incorporate recent design improvements.
• Fleet must not be more than six years old at the time of bidding.
• Service providers must include in their bid the hourly rates for:
  • 21m³ refuse compactors
  • Double axle skip trucks
  • Single axle skip trucks
• All delivery costs must be included in the bid price.
• Service providers are responsible for all mechanical repairs and breakdowns.
• Equipment must be delivered within 24 hours of order confirmation.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in hiring refuse compactors and skip trucks, with evidence of previous contracts.
• Capacity to supply:
  • 3 x 21m³ refuse compactors or equivalent
  • 2 x 21m³ refuse compactors or equivalent
  • 1 x double axle skip truck
  • 1 x single axle skip truck
• Proof of ownership or lease agreements for the fleet must be provided, with vehicles not older than six years.
• Bidder must demonstrate the ability to deliver equipment within 24 hours of order.
• Bidder must comply with all technical specifications and legal requirements, including tax compliance and registration documentation.
