The University seeks to appoint an experienced and professional contractor to undertake the following universal accessible building work, fire protection & heritage maintenance work at the following areas of the property: Main entrance, Circulation Spaces, Toilet Facilities, Courtyard Lift Addition, Redecoration, and Renovation to Heritage Building. Compulsory Information Session and Site Visit (Only suitably qualified representatives to attend the Compulsory Site Visit) Date 14th October 2025 Contractors to present identification at the gate (allow min. 30 minutes for registration) An attendance register will be signed and considered as the mandatory document used to verify that the bidder attended the session. The attendance register shall be closed 10 minutes after the time indicated above. Late arrivals of bidders shall be disqualified from the tender evaluation process.   • Implementation of construction activities within specified timelines: site handover by 3rd November 2025 and practical completion by 30th June 2026.
  • Respect for heritage and landscape features, including tree protection and removal protocols.

Skills Requirements

  • Experience in similar building construction, interior refurbishments, and heritage projects (minimum four projects in the past 5 years).
  • Qualified key personnel, including a Construction Manager, Foreman, and SHEQ Officer, with minimum experience and relevant qualifications (NQF Level 7 degree or equivalent for experts, NQF Level 6 diploma or equivalent for intermediates).
  • Proven track record with references, certificates of completion, and client testimonials.
  • Active CIDB membership with a rating of 6GB or higher.
  • Capability to prepare and manage project programmes, budgets, and safety standards.
  • Local presence within Tshwane Municipality or ability to employ local labour.
  • Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and ability to maintain a comprehensive safety file.
