Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of concrete lighting poles for Bergrivier Municipality, covering specifications for different pole sizes (7.2m and 9m) with reinforced concrete construction, to enhance municipal lighting infrastructure from 1 July 2026 until 30 June 2028.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of concrete lighting poles of specified lengths (7.2m and 9m) with reinforced concrete and spigot type construction.
• Supply of poles with specific features such as PVC doors with Allen screws and over pole spigots of 76mm diameter.
• Delivery of poles to the Bergrivier Municipal Building, 13 Church Street, Piketberg.
• Provision of related plant, equipment, subcontractors, and work experience as required for successful contract execution.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the concrete lighting poles are as follows:

• Construction from reinforced concrete complying with S.A.B.S. 470-2003 standards.
• For 7.2m poles: Spigot type with PVC door, Allen screws, and 76mm diameter spigot.
• For 9m poles: Spigot type with similar features as above.
• Poles must be manufactured as per detailed specifications, including the use of spun concrete and appropriate reinforcement.
• Fixed pricing with delivery periods specified (Year 1 and Year 2 with 6% escalation).

Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Experience in manufacturing or supplying reinforced concrete lighting poles.
• Capability to provide plant and equipment necessary for manufacturing, delivery, and installation.
• Availability of subcontractors with relevant expertise, if applicable.
• Work experience in similar projects, including current and completed contracts.
• Compliance with technical standards and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of municipal procurement procedures and adherence to specifications.
