Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver medium-graded Hot Mix Asphalt, G2 Crusher Material, and G5 Subbase Material to support road maintenance activities on an as-and-when-required basis at the Port of Richards Bay. The contract aims to ensure the availability of quality materials to facilitate efficient road maintenance over a period of three (3) years.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of medium-graded Hot Mix Asphalt.
• Supply and delivery of G2 Crusher Material.
• Supply and delivery of G5 Subbase Material.
• Provision of materials on an as-and-when-required basis at the Port of Richards Bay.
• Maintenance of roads through the provision of specified materials over a three-year period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• Materials must meet quality standards as stipulated in the bid documents.
• Materials should be suitable for road maintenance purposes, including durability and compliance with relevant specifications.
• All materials must be delivered in accordance with the specified delivery points and timelines.
• Samples of materials may be required for quality verification.
• Foreign specifications, if applicable, must be translated and detailed in the bid.
• Export licenses may be required for imported materials.

Skills and Experience Requirements

Respondents should demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying and delivering similar materials for road maintenance projects.
• Capability to meet quality standards and specifications for asphalt and aggregate materials.
• Ability to provide samples and documentation as required.
• Financial stability and security to fulfill contractual obligations, including providing securities if called upon.
• Knowledge of compliance with South African laws, including VAT and foreign exchange regulations.
• Experience in handling export licenses and international procurement processes, if applicable.
