Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of water treatment chemicals to Bergrivier Municipality for the period from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. The aim is to ensure the municipality's water treatment processes are adequately supported with quality chemicals, meeting specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of various water treatment chemicals such as hydrated lime, chlorine liquid gas, sodium hypochlorite, SUDFLOC 3870, and other related chemicals. It covers supply, delivery, and associated services to the municipal offices located at Piketberg, Velddrif, and Porterville, within the specified contract period. The tender also encompasses optional services like monitoring, installation, maintenance, and training related to the chemicals supplied.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of specified chemicals in designated quantities and sizes, including 25 kg bags, 70 kg cylinders, and 28 kg containers.
• Compliance with technical specifications such as chemical purity, pH levels, and physical properties (e.g., clarity, color, specific gravity).
• Provision of chemicals with remote monitoring capabilities where applicable (e.g., SUDFLOC 3870).
• Delivery to specified municipal sites within the agreed timeframes, with packaging suitable for transport and storage.
• Inclusion of container rentals, deposits, and special conditions for certain chemicals.
• Adherence to quality standards, including warranties for new, unused, and current model chemicals, with a warranty period of 12 to 18 months.
• Provision of technical documentation, safety data sheets, and references demonstrating experience in similar work within the last 5 years.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Registered and compliant with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Demonstrated experience in supplying water treatment chemicals, supported by references and letters from previous clients.
• Technical expertise in chemical handling, storage, and application in water treatment processes.
• Capability to monitor and manage chemical parameters remotely where specified.
• Qualified personnel for installation, supervision, maintenance, and training services related to the supplied chemicals.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including valid certificates of good standing from the Compensation Commissioner.
• Ability to meet delivery deadlines and provide after-sales support, including spare parts and technical assistance.
